God often speaks to us in pictures, and one image He returns to again and again is that of a puzzle. Each person carries a gift, a story, and a purpose, and when those pieces come together, something beautiful begins to form.
Sometimes He describes someone as the missing puzzle piece. Other times He shows us that we may be the puzzle for someone else’s piece. Either way, when we gather, the picture becomes clearer.
Scripture reminds us of this same truth:
“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body… so also is Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:12
And just like the vision in Ezekiel, where scattered bones were brought together and breathed into life, God has a way of calling His people together piece by piece.
“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.”
— Ezekiel 37:10
Like many things at Broken Bread, our approach to membership is a little different.
Our main gathering happens on Wednesday nights, where we worship, pray, study the Word, and seek the Lord together. Sundays are reserved for smaller spaces—Bible study, deeper conversations, and one-on-one meetings we call Sunday Sessions for those who want to engage more personally.
Many of our members also attend a local church, and we fully support that. We have no desire to compete with the local assembly. While Broken Bread is a virtual ministry, we do not see ourselves as a substitute for the local body of Christ.
At the same time, for many people the Broken Bread community has become home. Some see us as their spiritual covering, others see us as a fueling station or training center along their walk with God.
We wanted to create a place where all of those people could exist together.
Whether you join us every week, come occasionally, or simply stop in when the Lord leads you, you are welcome here. And if the day ever comes when you feel led somewhere else, you’re free to go—knowing there will always be a seat at the table with your name on it.
Around here, we usually start calling you family after you’ve joined us three times.
For those who feel led to make their membership official, we offer a simple commitment. There is a $135 membership fee, and we encourage members to pledge at least $115 toward our charity partners.
Each year beginning at Rosh Hashanah, Broken Bread prayerfully selects three charities to support as a ministry family. Members are invited to partner with us through prayer and giving to support the work God is doing through these organizations.
If you feel led by God to join us, we would love to walk with you.
After all, every puzzle is still waiting for the pieces that complete it.
